Scope of this policy
This policy applies to this Genet Canada website. The current website provides general corporate and research information and does not offer user accounts, public comments, file uploads or online medical services.
Information processed when you visit
Like most websites, the hosting infrastructure may process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and security logs. Genet does not use this website to collect genetic, medical or other sensitive health information.
Cookies and analytics
Genet does not place advertising cookies or operate behavioural advertising through this website. The contact form uses an essential session cookie to validate your submission and protect against abuse. Essential hosting or security technologies may also be used to operate and protect the site.
Information you send to us
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, enquiry topic, subject and message. You may also provide your organization and role. Submissions are emailed to contact@genet.ca and may be handled through our existing mailbox forwarding. We use this information to review and respond to your enquiry, maintain business records and meet legal obligations. We do not send automatic marketing or subscribe you to a mailing list. The form does not accept attachments. Please do not send patient identifiers, medical records, genetic reports or other confidential health information.
Sharing and retention
For abuse prevention, the server temporarily keeps a one-way hash derived from the submitting IP address, request counts and timestamps. Form message content is not written to the website’s rate-limit records. Enquiries are retained in the receiving email system. Information is not sold. It may be processed by service providers supporting website operation, disclosed where required by law, or retained as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was received and for legal, security or administrative requirements.
Your choices
You may contact Genet Canada at the address listed on the Contact page to ask about personal information you have directly provided and to request access or correction, subject to applicable law.
Changes
This policy may be updated when the website’s functions or privacy practices change. The date above identifies the current version.
